Understanding NYSA Fees

NYSA Families,

Recently some of the payment and fees changed for NYSA families when you sign up to register you athlete for a sport.  These fees changed due to the company that helps us process registrations, payments, as well as manage our website content.  That company, Sports Connect, purchased the company that previously did this for us.  As we're adjusting to those changes, we've discovered that Sports Connect is doing a great job for us, serves our league, athletes and parents well.  Below are the new changes in the fee structure:

1. Each time you sign your athlete up for a sport through the NYSA, Sports Connect adds a fee of $3 to that registration.
2. When you pay for your registration, the credit card processing company charges a small fee (~2%) to process your payment.

Both of these fees show up on your registration.  If the fees did not show up like this, the NYSA would typically add that cost to the registration fee to compensate for the cost.

Lastly, the NYSA charges an annual membership fee of $45 per family.  This is an annual membership that runs from October 1 to September 30th each year, which coincides with the NYSA fiscal year.  This fee is only paid once per year per family, regardless of how many athletes or sports they participate in.

The NYSA is always exploring ways to save the league and it's members money.  As a non-profit, the NYSA is not profiting from these fees and dues, which allow us to provide necessary equipment, maintenance and training to our volunteers.  Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions or concerns regarding fees.
