Become an Official

Fall season games begin Saturday, Sept 6th.

Ages 14+ may officiate.

USSF/FIFA Certification is not required to officiate with NYSA.  Training is provided by our lead ref, Erik Johnson.  If you do not already have a NYSA officiating patch or are a certified official, you are asked to come to one academic training and one field training.  All returning referees are asked to take the current tests located on the training page.

Fall 2025 Training Dates:

Academic Training: August 27th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.  Located at Navarre Soccer Complex on Military Trail (off of Panhandle Dr).  
Academic Training will review the Laws of the Game, league specific rules and emphasis, and need-to-know (how to get paid, how uniforms are handled, etc)

Field Training: September 3rd from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Weather back up September 4th 6:30 - 8:00pm. Located at Navarre Soccer Complex on Military Trail (off of Panhandle Dr).
Field Training will allow refs to officiate during a scrimmage.  They will shadow as both ARs and Center Officials to get in-game experience.  Proper signaling and teamwork between all three officials on the crew will be emphasized.

Pay ranges from $25 from the youngest division to $40 for the oldest division (with a bonus for certified referees).  Students, you can earn Bright Futures hours for this paid position.  The head referee or commissioner will help you complete the forms you will need.  Please email Erik or Becky for more information.

Games are assigned each week based on your availability.  We welcome you to join us even if it is only for one game!
